Our Speaker
Tom Troll
Servant of Christ
Tom Troll was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and began his life-long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (later to grow into Southwestern Bell Corporation to SBC, Inc. and eventually to AT&T when we put the Bell System back together as best we could.)
Tom started in sales for residential service briefly before moving to engineering and eventually to regulatory where he spent the majority of his career. Tom came to Texas in 1989 to assist the State regulatory group with their operations in Austin where he became an expert witness and testified in front of the Public Utilities Commission of Texas. He received the company award for excellence and was a team member for special projects in Washington, D.C, Mexico City and El Salvador. Tom ended is career in the corporate offices of the regulatory department when an opportunity for early retirement arose.
Not wanting to leave San Antonio, Tom took early retirement and devoted the rest of his working life to doing God’s work in the community. He was the Executive Director for the Comal County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit home builder for under served individuals. Served as the Facilities Manager for his local church and “guy Friday” for his wife who became a second career pastor in the Methodist Church.
Throughout his adult life Tom has served on boards of churches, local Emmaus community, the Kairos Prison Ministry local chapter, his HOA and Ballet Austin to name a few. Service has been the underpinning in his life and he continues that calling into his retirement.
Tom enjoys, humor, music, reading, Bible Study, Christian teaching tours and seminars. Tom and his wife Rhonda are adopted Texans (we got here as quick as we could and we’ve lived here longer than anywhere else) with two sons, three grandsons and our first great-grandson all residents of Texas with the latter four, native Texans. To God be the Glory for he has been so, so good to us.
Come enjoy a Great Speaker (Tom),
Great Food and Great People (You)!
