Mark Smith is the Executive Director of Impact Water. After pastoring churches in Indiana & Oklahoma, Mark came with his family to San Antonio in 1984 and started Fellowship Bible Church.

In 1986 Mark took a group of men from his church to the Amazon Jungle and built his 1st water project for Rachel Saint who, was a missionary among the Auca Indians. These same group of Indians had martyred her brother and 4 other missionaries in 1956. Mark, over the next 24 years, saw how the water projects changed the life of a village and it changed the hearts of the men who went with him.

In 2008, Mark went full-time with his ministry and has completed water projects in 48 villages bring clean water to over 12,000 while taking over 300 men on the water projects. Impact uses the water projects to build an indigenous movement of the Gospel led by men in the village who have been transformed by the Gospel.
